Individual Entrants: Picked up from the event base on the day of the event. We recommend checking into this area at least 45 minutes prior to your scheduled start time.
Series Entrants: If you are completing the same course distance as your last outing (Short, Mid or Long) you need to simply turn up wearing that same race number and be crossed off at registration. Remember to hold onto this number for the whole series.
If you are changing courses (up or down) you need to be issued with a different colour race number at registration.

If you are unfamiliar with Woodhill you can expect to see plenty of hard packed (and some not so hard packed) sand based trails. The forest is just one big playground with an endless supply of great winding trails – of course we have picked the best ones to take you from start to finish.
The trails can handle plenty of rain so even if the floodgates open up in the next two weeks you still won’t encounter many puddles out there!
However if there are as many horses out as there was last week it may be a little boggy in places Short course competitors will spend all their time on trails while mid and long course competitors will get a chance to stretch out on some short forestry road sections.
NOTE: The nature of the forest means those trying to follow the course pre event may well struggle (there are literally trails left right and centre).

6.4 km
You will be running on really nice sand based trails for the duration of your run. The course is undulating with no major uphill or downhill sections but you won’t see too much true flat ground. You finish with everyone else on the awesome home loop. Watch for the odd tree root and wild deer
:
You will have 1 drink station at the bottom of Pulpit Rock Rd where you merge with the mid and long course competitors.

Your terrain will be more varied with a bit of gravel road thrown in the mix and even a few larger rocks. Majority of the course is however sand based and undulates through some great horse and mountain bike tracks. You finish with everyone else on the awesome home loop. Watch for the odd tree root and wild deer.
You will have two drink stations. One at the 6.3km mark on Mushroom rd and one at the 10.2km mark at the bottom of Pulpit Rock Rd where you will mix with short course competitors.

Majority of the course is sand based but you will however have some nice gravel sections to stretch your legs and get some decent pace up. The course is undulating and the only flat sections you will have will be on the gravel roads. The tracks are some underutilised horse and old mountain bile tracks and make for some fantastic easy running. You finish with everyone else on the awesome home loop. Watch for the odd tree root and wild deer.
You will have two drink stations. One at the 6.3km mark on Mushroom rd and one at the 15.5km mark at the bottom of Pulpit Rock Rd where you will mix with mid and short course competitors.

It wouldn’t be a Total Sport event unless you were following hanging white tape and red arrows on a white corflute backing. While course are well marked you will still need toout there.
Key intersections will be clearly marked to make life easy for you!

We strongly recommend that all competitors come to these events sensibly prepared as some of these courses are very tough and weather conditions can be extremely changeable. We recommend running with a camelbak loaded with up to 2L of water and/or Balance along with Balance squeezy’s and other nutritional nibbles.
You can expect to be away from base for a decent period of time at these events! While event medics will be at each event & competitors may encounter on course marshals with first aid on them it also pays to be safety conscious and carry items like a basic first aid kit, cell phone, whistle and additional warm clothing.
